About Myles Taft

Greetings!! I am a self taught, independent artist. I specialize in the fantastical art of constructing environments. While this field can be difficult at times, it is also exceptionally rewarding. Being able to take a scene from a simple primitive to a complex object in a matter of hours has always been exciting to me. Every day is a new challenge, presenting its own difficulties and rewards.

I became interested in 3D modeling when I was fourteen years old. One day I thought to ask myself how models for video games were created. Soon thereafter I found myself mucking about in the student version of 3DS Max 2010. After playing with and getting to know 3DS Max I finally decided on learning Blender and Gimp due to licensing.

I am constantly pushing myself to improve, every day I challenge myself to create something within an allotted amount of time. This allows me to better manage my resources and gives me a chance to analyze what I did wrong, and what I could do better. After all, life is a learning experience and there will always be something new to examine and understand. Someday I will be working in the art department, helping to bring environments to life for millions to enjoy.
